Day of The Dead Music Video

In choosing my own brother's music video for this blog's inaugural entry, I am only showing an infinitesimal bit of nepotism. I'm sorry, but the video is just that good. It's so good I'm gonna sound stupid trying to describe it, but here goes:

The footage is from the Day of the Dead festival in San Francisco, and the song you hear in the background is "Hellhole Ratrace" by Girls. Don't let the title fool you, though. The song is a soft, sweet, acoustic number that lifts up into a dreamy electric spell. The music is made even more poignant and hypnotic by the video's dazzling display of cinematography and editing. The overall effect is like a subtle but potent drug, leaving the viewer light-headed and entranced.  Even as I typed those last two sentences, I realized just how "nepotistic" this might sound to some...but I don't care, because it's true. The colors, the lighting, the motion, the cuts -- every visual is beautiful.

So if you wanna shut me up, just go ahead and watch it. Watch it in fullscreen HD. And if you don't think every minute is a fantastical vision of child-like wonderment, then by all means let us start a full-fledged comment war.
